Antonys behavior led to the civil war in Rome. IN 31 B.C. Octavian sent a fleet to attack Antony. Antony sailed out to meet it, and the two forces met just west of Greece in the battle of Actium. Antony lost the battle, but he escaped with Cleopatra and they went back to Greece together. Then they both commited suicide so that they couldn't be taken prisoner by Octavian. Since they were dead, this officially made Octavian the Emporer.
