The Famous Five Consisted of 5 women, Emily Murphy, Irene Parbly, Nellie McClung, Henrietta Edwards and Louise McKinney, these five women took issue with British North America act of 1867 which stated that a person shall be referred to as "He" many argued that this did not include women. On October 19th 1929 the Privy councli declared that "person" includes women.
