David has captured the city called Jerusalem, to extend his land and to make its new capital. After David has ruled for 40 years the Kingdom Of Israel, and later gave his power to his son Solomon. Solomon later on commissioned the First Temple in Jerusalem. The First Temple was built on Mount Moriah, and it lasted for 410 years before it was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in 423 BCE. “To complete the massive project, he imposed forced labor on all his subjects, drafting people for work shifts that sometimes lasted a month at a time. Some 3,300 officials were appointed to oversee the Temple's erection.”
