The School of Athens is a painting meant to illustrate how much of Renaissance art is influenced by ancient Greek culture. In the painting, Greek scholars are talking or performing their various arts while in a school in the intellectual and economic centre of ancient Greece. When looked at closely we can see that the people in the painting represent the greatest minds of the Renaissance. The people also represent all of the different arts. This painting is an acknowledgement of the role that greek culture had on all aspects of the Renaissance
