30 июл 1676 г. - Bacon's Rebellion
Описание:
The lack of retaliation against violent Indian nations that neighbored Jamestown angered many, including Nathaniel Bacon. Bacon organized attacks on the Indians despite condemnation from authority and succeeded in ridding the land of Indians. Jamestown responded by passing Bacon’s Laws, which gave more freedom to the “everyman” in Virginia. Despite the passing of these laws, Bacon continued to rebel, eventually setting fire to Jamestown itself. This rebellion was important to American history because it contributed greatly to the rise of slavery and desire for land.
