Elizabeth I clearly had many accomplishments because her reign is considered the golden age in English history. Two of Elizabeth’s most well known achievements are: the defeat of the great Spanish Armada and the Elizabethan Religious Settlement. Elizabeth’s defeat of the Spanish Armada is considered one of the greatest military victories in English history. The second most well known accomplishment is, again, the Elizabethan Religious Settlement, which provided a long lasting middle way between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism. Queen Elizabeth I triumphed in spite of being a woman and she stood out in a world dominated by men.
