14 июл 1859 г. - Opening of the Toronto's Branch Asylum at Fort Malden

«In 1859, to alleviate overcrowding t Toronto, a brach asylum was opened in Amherstburg, near Windsor. It was situated in the unused British military barracks at Fort Malden, along the back of the Detroit River, and was thus called Malden Asylum. In order to get it ready for later occupants, 'twenty of our most industrious' male patients were sent on 14 July 1859 to Malden with Dr. Andrew Fisher, the superintendent» (Reaume, 2009, p. 161).
The Malden Asylum was closed in 1870.
