The Confederate states of America was a group of 11 states that seceded from the Union. South Carolina was the first state that had seceded On December 20, 1860 right after the election of 1860. Abraham had won, increasing their growing fear about slavery having to be contained, or even worse... banned. They later on pressured other states to secede as well, there establishing The Confederate States of America.
