This 350,000 worker strike went from Sept 20, 1919 to January 8, 1920. This strike was caused by the AFL wanting better wages, shorter hours and less corporate harassment. This strike caused many steel factories to shut down and construction almost completely stopped. In the end the strike ended for fear of communism.
