After Napoleon's exile to Elba some of Italy was given to Austria. Soon after rebel groups formed and led a revolt. People like Giuseppe Garibaldi, Giuseppe Mazzini, Victor Emmanuel, and Camillo Cavour were all leaders in the nationalist movement. After the invasion of the two Sicilies, the Kingdom of Italy was announced.
