The Prince analyzes the qualities of a proper prince that will best be able to keep his power, He says that a prince must do what is best for his people no matter what and so should be feared rather than loved. The book says that it is important for a prince to appear virtuous but should be willing to put morals aside when trying to get fear from his people and enemies. The book was written by Machiavelli to Lorenzo de Medici.
