English scientist credited with the discovery of the electron. This discovery provided the first hint that atoms are made up of smaller particles. This also proved that Dalton was wrong, atoms are divisible. Thomson's model stated that atoms are made of positively and negatively charged particles and that these particles were spread throughout the atom.
