Hudson's Bay Company is formed and given a monopoly to the massive drainage basin of the Hudson's Bay, which was named Rupert's Land, by the British crown. Until now, the fur trade in Canada was completely dependant on Aboriginal partners. The coming decades will be the height of the Fur Trade.
