The Peace of Westphalia officially ended the war in Germany in 1648. The Peace of Westphalia ensured that all German states, including the Calvinist ones, were free to determine their own religion. The Peace of Westphalia also made it clear that religion and politics were now separate. This caused a major and impactful religious shift in Germany as a whole because of the introduction of acceptance and new toleration in the state.
