5 апр 1914 г. - Technicolour

Описание:

In 1914 Herbert Kalmus, Daniel Frost Comstock and W. Burton Wescott founded the company Technicolor. The company first started merging the colours red and green in the films such as 'The Doll Shop' (1929), The King of Kings' (1927) and 'The Campus Vamp' (1928). In 1932 Technicolour added the 3rd colour strip of blue and this was shown in Walt Disney's "Flowers and Trees'.

The process of obtaining this colour was that the technicolour camera would take the picture and shoot it through a prism that would split it into red, green and blue negatives. The negatives were flipped into positives and dyed with the complementary colours. Red - cyan, blue - yellow and green - magenta. The dye was then transferred to create the technicolour image.

The camera that shot technicolour films was massive because it had to have 3 films running through it at once. This meant it was very loud and so a blimp had to be created around it so sound could still be recorded for the film.

Technicolour was very significant in the development of film and TV as it was used for a long time after first being invented. It created a whole new world for film and TV as before films were only in black and white. It made it so films felt more real and people enjoyed them more.
