I receive Jesus to take control of my life

This quote is an expansion on the most memorized Bible verse in Church school - John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and whosoever shall believe in him will not perish, but have eternal life." (NIV)
Coming to Jesus as a sinner and believing he died on the cross to take those sins away are part of the ABC's of faith talked about amongst new Christians. Kendrick and his buddies are confessing their lives to Christ before the album even starts. This verse is quoted in the next song "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe."
The entire album is full of admittances of sin and yearning for forgiveness. Kendrick goes on to admit sins of lust, drunkenness, and idolatry as the album continues, but it ends yet again with the prayer of acceptance in the song "Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst."
