Описание:
In 1872, photographer, Eadweard Muybridge was challenged to answer the common question of when a horse gallops at one point, do all the hooves lift off the ground?
By October 1878, Muybridge had designed a way of using batteries of cameras, their shutters triggered by the horse’s movement over trip wires to answer the question. Muybridge did in fact find out that at a point during a horse's gallop all four legs do leave the ground. This series of 12 photos created the first moving picture.
In my opinion this was a very important breakthrough for film and TV history. It was the first time anyone had ever seen a moving picture and it paved the way to the moving image industry. It also lead others to create their own moving pictures such as the Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat.
