As a response to the Hungarian Uprising, 200,000 Warsaw Pact troops invade Czechoslovakia, only to be met by peaceful protesting. Forefront of the movement against Communism, Alexander Dubcek was arrested for not complying with the Soviet Union. These movements against opposers to Communism would be highlighted in the Brezhnev Doctrine, with aims to strengthen Communism in Eastern Europe.
