Argentina separated from Spain because they were upset about their treatment, they had previously lost Havana to Great Britain, and there was a major tax problem. Spain recognized Argentina as an indepentdent nation in 1816. The revolution caused Argentina to be in debt and it inspired other countries to revolt.
