Elvis Stojko was heading into the Olympics suffering from a groin injury and a bad flu which many of the Olympians were suffering with this. Elvis's coach Doug Leigh simplified his program taking out his quadruple jumps so that he could potentially still skate clean. After the landing of his triple axel, Elvis felt something went wrong internally. He pushed through and finished his program with simpler triple jumps. These changes allowed him to earn the silver medal.
