The Philippine-American War was a war that took place between the Philippine Republic and the United States after the Philippine Republic disagreed with the terms of the Treaty of Paris, which ended the Spanish American war. The war took place from the year 1899, to 1902. The fighting took place in the Philippines islands and dealt many deaths for the Philippines ranging from 200,000 to 250,000. After the United States won the war after three years of fighting, the United States occupied the Philippine islands and changed a great deal of things such as the disestablishment of the Catholic church as the state religion, the introduction of the English language in the islands as the primary language in government, education, business, industry, and among families for generations to come.
