The first VHS player is released by JVC in late 1976.VHS was worse than Betamax and Laserdisc in every way. However, the price of films, plus the ease of use made it easier for VHS to become dominant in the market.
This is significant in a negative way; VHS, although it was the worse way to experience films, dominated the market. This means the general consumer was not getting the best experience of a film.
