Founded in 1828 by Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren. It is one of the two major political parties along with the Republican Party. Democrats have a sense of Social Liberalism, an ideology that seeks balance between individual liberty, social justice, and the common good. The strongest of these beliefs is equality on all fronts including race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation.
