In this time period, the oldest Human Immunodeficiency Virus-2 (HIV- 2) jumps from animals to humans, according to a Washington based study in May of 2003. There has been debate on the exact date that the jump of disease from animals to humans happened, but it is well accepted that it was in the 1940s.
