(Von Guericke)Von Guericke invented the electric generator in 1663. This produced static electricity by applying friction with a spinning ball of sulfur. He also created the vacuum tube in 1650 from an air pump. He concluded that light was able to travel through the vacuum but sound was not able to travel through it.
