His experiment was where he moved electrons from a higher level of energy to a lower level of energy, creating a visible color on the spectrum.
Discovery:
From the experiment, he then discovered that there are layers of electrons orbiting around the nucleus, orbiting faster the further the layer was from the nucleus.
Model:
In the model, it shows the formula of the energy being released when dropping from one shell down, stating the wavelengths of light. As for the shell layers, the numerical layers state where the color changes due to the layers.
