1 янв 1773 г. - Tea Act
Описание:
The Tea Act gave the British East India Company an upper hand on the tea buisness. The British aimed to save the East India Company, which was already struggling through an economic hardship without the boycotts on tea and the consumption of smuggled Dutch tea in the colonies. This had left the company with tons of tea in its warehouses, wasting away. The colonists reacted with protests, boycotts, and the infamous Boston Tea Party, in which they dumped chests of tea into Boston Harbor on December 16th of 1773. The colonial merchants were angered because by allowing the East India Company to directly sell tea to the American colonies cut them out. Then others believed the act was designed to ease them into accepting Parliament's right to impose further taxes on them.
