Описание:
Women have also had it hard in the education field. Even though they were allowed to attend college, however, at Oxford that was not the case. Before, they had to have a sponsor because it was looked down upon for a women to work or earn an education. In 1920, women of Oxford University were finally allowed to receive degrees that they had worked so hard for. Respectively, women who had earned their degrees previously were allowed to come back be allowed to attend graduation. One of the most famous graduates was Dorothy L Sayers. Being one of the first women to graduate, she was able to receive her degree after finishing her degree in 1915. This eventually led to her creating her famous novel Gaudy Night. Women receiving degrees from Oxford University was a key shift in history because it displayed to society that women were as equally educated as men. It was also a key shift in British Literature history because women now had credible evidence to support their claims.
