David Thompson, in the winter of 1811 in Jasper National Park, Alberta, reported that there was a trackway of bipedal 14 inch tracks with long claws or toenails. David Thompson said to his Blackfoot guide whether it was from a bear, he said that it was from a Stay'yemah.
