The jurors at the court were sometimes called the homagers. 1591 <i>At this court it is presented by the Homage that Elizabeth, late wife of Robert Haighe of Sowewood ... </i>[who]<i> lately held ... a parcel of land and the buildings thereon in Dewisbury ... died since the last Court</i> (YAJ25/457).
