Both the French and the British start to starve, because they don’t have firewood or fuel, and are starving. The French decide to attack the British with the same army since they started training hard beforehand. The battle last a while, and no one was winning, and everything would go back and forth, but after hours of gruesome fighting, the British decide to retreat into the fortress.The French army decide to surround the fortress so that the British cannot come out. Both armies sent letters to their kings asking for more supplies and more men to win the battle, and so the battle would be decided on who would respond faster. After about 2 weeks a ship shows up on the river, but the flag wasn’t up on the ship, and so neither of the armies knew who the ship belonged to, and neither wanted to attack it, because it might’ve been theirs. Once the ship puts up the flag the French are very disappointed and forced to retreat to Montreal. The French decide to burn their flags rather than give them up. The British were thinking how lucky they were to be with a government that cares about them, and that New France is finally theirs. The French were thinking that why the hell the government didn’t help them out, and after all that fighting and sacrifice they have to give up their land, and burn their own flags.
