Operation Overlord was the allied invasion of France that took place on the beaches of Normandie. This was the largest armada in world history. Troops from the US, Great Britain, Canada, and Australia landed on five different beaches. Their objective was to liberate France from Nazi control. The liberation of France was the 25th of August.
