Ethel and Julius Rosenberg were put on trial because there were accused espionage. People thought that they were selling US nuclear secrets to Russians. The trial ended up lasting about a month and ended with the Rosenbergs being sentenced to death on April 6th. This shows of the fear of communism in America affected Americans. They were executed on June 19 1953.
