Описание:

Allowed the government to legally recognise and provide money for the Indian reservations.
As migration increased, more and more settlers wanted to use Indian land.
Reservations were areas of land controlled and managed by the government for the Indians.
They encouraged the Indians to live like Americans and restricted the amount of land they had to hunt.

Reasons why Indians agreed:
-Struggling to survive with new changes of mining, railroads and the cattle industry.
-They'd be protected from the whites.
-They's be given yearly payments of food and money.
-They wouldn't lose anymore land.
Most of these promises by the government were broken.

Problems:
-They were often far from sacred places or near enemy tribes, so Indians would sometimes leave the reservation.
-The Indians had no experience of farming so struggled to grow crops, so the government had to supply them with lots of food.
-The settlers were unhappy with the amount of land given to the Indians so the government used it as an excuse to reduce it.
