Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12th, 1809 and was assassinated on April 15th, 1865. He was in office as the 16th President of the United States from March 4th, 1861 until his assassination on April 15th, 1865. During Lincoln’s presidency, he preserved the Union, paved the way for the abolition of slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy.
