Monarchy didn’t establish stable institution; coexistence of rival dynastic families (Obrenovic vs Karadjordjevic) who both tried to liberate Serbia from OttoEmp; Alex was a tinpot dictator - no respect for judiciary independence; society didn’t like Alex and Draga → Apis led military conspiracy/coup to kill monarchs.
