HUAC, or House Un-American Activities Committee", was a group that was committed to locating communist activity in the US. This group used intimidation to scare citizens to steer clear of communist activity, and created fear in the country among many Americans. During the Red Scare, many Americans were accused of being a communist, most of the time unethically accused.
