Adah was stalked by a lion, but in the end the lion decided not to eat her. The villagers saw this as a sign that Nathan's God is more powerful than their's, and this was a positive boost for Christianity. "Tata Ndu came here personally to tell us that the gods of his villages did not take kindly to the minister of corruption" (Kingsolver 140).
