Located in Nukuoro, Micronesia on an island where immigrants arrived long ago. The sculptures were made of wood and ranged from 30 cm. to 217 cm. The Nukuoro people believed that their deities resided in animals or were represented in stones. Each figurine represented a specific male or female deity.
