-On Vormir, Thanos and Gamora meet the Stone's guardian for the last seven decades, the Red Skull. It is explained that the Stone can only be given to whoever sacrifices a beloved one, "a soul for another". Thanos throws Gamora, his favorite adoptive daughter, down a cliff, and is rewarded with the Soul Stone.
