Kennedy was assassinated driving through Dallas, Texas in an open top convertible. The assassination of president JFK was absolutely shocking to the entire nation and completely left everyone distraught because he was such a likeable president, doing so much good for the country as a whole. President Johnson was sworn into office the next day and had to deal with the burden of a tumultuous time with the problem of civils right at a forefront.
