Benjamin Franklin was an American polymath, statesman, inventor, and Founding Father, best known for his pivotal role in the American Revolution and his numerous scientific and practical inventions. He was the only Founding Father to sign all four key documents creating the United States: the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Alliance with France, the Treaty of Paris, and the U.S. Constitution. He was also a successful printer, publisher, scientist, and diplomat who served as the first U.S. Postmaster General.
