Nehemiah receives a decree from the Persian King Artaxerxes I to restore and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 2:1-8). Many scholars see this decree as the starting point for Daniel's "70 weeks" prophecy concerning the Messiah (Daniel 9:25).
