Un second émissaire rencontra le sultan ottoman en Égypte en 1517.
Müslihiddin Reis Kurdoğlu et son apprenti Deli Mehmed, dont la destination était Chypre, apprenant que le sultan ottoman se trouvait en Égypte, décidèrent de lui rendre hommage et rejoignirent la flotte ottomane en route vers Alexandrie.
