Allowed the Crown to try, convict, and execute Protestants who refused to convert back to Catholicism.
Led to the Marian Persecutions, where around 280 Protestants were burned at the stake.
Aimed to suppress Protestantism and restore Catholic orthodoxy in England.
They were a central tool in Mary’s campaign to reverse the English Reformation.
