Empire Constantine legalized Christianity and made it a protected religion. As Christians grew in power, the rights and safety of Jews declined. Jews were portrayed as rejected people, and the Empire favored Christianity over all other religions. Violence rose, and the Jews went from a tolerated minority to being targeted.
