A geological mapping satellite is launched to assist with global lunar composition studies (inspired by Earth resource satellite advances). It detects strange albedo signatures at the South Pole Aitken Basin. Resolution isn't good enough to identify the object precisely, but it is flagged by NASA as an area of interest.
