Parliment repleals the infamous Stamp Act, but then imeediatly passes the Declatory Act, stating that they had the power todecide the fate of the colonies.

British Rationale: they wanted to avoid angering colonists further, and they were losing profit from the boycotts. But, they still wanted to establish their dominance

Colonial Reaction: rejoicing over the repeal, ignoring the Declaratory Act
