Germans’ diets became more monotonous, with lots of bread, potatoes and preserves.

There were meat shortages due to lack of imports from the USA.


I cannot find the exact date but during the war in 1942 they cut the rationing in half - in general half a loaf of bread (then it becomes a problem)
- black market emerges
- by 1945 —> starvation starts in Germany
