Hitler and Himmler decide to implement the ‘final solution of the jewish question’, they decide on the method to be death camps (killing people using gas chambers and crematoria)

--> after this 1 million Jews died in Aushwitz alone
Jews from all over were meant to be gradually transported from ghettos to the extermination camps to be killed

In total 6 million Jews were killed
- nearly half died in death camps, the other half were killed in mass executions or starved in ghettos and labour camps.
